Rose Petals

Rose petals have been used by those on the path for quite some time. They symbolize love and friendship. In the practice, they have been used for purification, protection, love, luck, peace and courage. They also look and smell wonderful!

They can be aded to sachets or spell jars to increase love and protection. For example, carrying a sachet of rose petals during travel is thought to add protection to the traveler.

They can be added to a bath with other herbs, such as damiana and cinquefoil, to increase the effects of a love spell. Rose petals can also be boiled and the water poured into a bath.

Rose petals have been used in teas and incorporated into food. They can also be used on an altar or given as an offering, especially if you feel aligned with the goddess Aphrodite or the god Eros.

Rose petals are quite versatile and I think a staple in any apothecary!
